Knitting for Men can sometimes present problems when it comes to finding a suitable pattern and interesting ideas, but this book, in the popular "Stitch 'n Bitch" series will help to solve that.
There are 45 unique and up to date projects, a few of which are crochet, all aimed specifically at men, with plenty of ideas for different styles and yarns. It takes a fresh look in general at knitting and crocheting for men and is also a good book to inspire any male knitters and help them to get away from the female domination of these wonderful crafts.
"Let's be honest... there aren't many knitting books out there that are
either aimed at male knitters or aimed at women who want a book of
things to knit for their man.
In my opinion the patterns in this book are good... not amazing... but good none the less. I certainly think that if you know any male knitters who don't already own this book, that it would be a well-received gift.
If you're a female knitter looking to knit something for your man then you may get away with side-stepping the "boyfriend - jumper" curse by knitting something a little more funky from this book.
The style of the book is fun too, and the craft is presented in a positive manner. As long as you bear in mind that it's unlikely that out of a book of 45 patterns that you will like them all... then I feel this is a book that would sit well in most people's collections."
"There are more knit projects than crochet (which is what I was actually after). That said, the couple of crochet jumper patterns that are in here are *fantastic* - and there are several really nice knitted jumper patterns too, so all in all it's win-win."
"My brother has recently taken up knitting and had been finding it hard to find trendy patterns he could knit for himself. I bought him this book for his birthday and wasn't sure how it would go down, but he loves it. Although it is written primarily for women who want patterns for men, that doesn't matter, there are a wealth of patterns for all capabilities."
