How to Knit Stitches
There are really only two basic knitting stitches, the Knit stitch and the Purl Stitch but it seems there is almost an infinite number of stitches and variations that can be worked using just these 2 very simple procedures.

The Knit Stitch
1,Hold the needle with the stitches on in your left hand and the free needle in your right.Insert the right-hand needle from the front to the back under the front loop of the first stitch.

2,With the yarn held at the back throughout, take it under and around the point of the needle.

3,Draw the yarn through onto the right hand needle and allow the stitch to drop off the left-hand needle. In patterns this is abbreviated as K1. Continue to the end of the row.
