Materials: 100g Natural Cotton Blend, example shown in Lilac & Pinks. 1 pair 4.5mm straight knitting needles
Instructions: Using 4.5mm needles cast on 48 sts, work 2 rows garter stitch, work 2 rows st.st.
Now switch to Brick Stitch pattern but at the same time working 4 rows garter stitch at the beginning and end of each row, as follows-
Row 1: K4 edge sts, P4, k4, to last 4 stitches, K4 edge stitches
Row 2: K4edge sts, K4, P4, to last 4 stitches, K4 edge sts.
Row 3: as row 1.
Row 4: as row 2.
Row 5: K4 edge sts, K4, P4, to last 4 stitches, K4 edge sts.
Row 6: K4 edge sts,, P4, PK, to last 4 stitches, K4 edge sts.
Row 7: as row 5.
Row 8: as row 6.
Repeat until piece measures 26cm adjusting to finish after 4th. row of a block pattern. Work 2 rows st. st and 2 rows garter stitch.
Next Row: to form inlaid loop, K to last 2 stitches, cast on 12 sts. as follows, loop yarn around fore finger on right hand and slip onto right hand needle, 12 times, K2. Cast off in purl, including the 12 new stitches in the inlaid loop. Darn in ends.
