Crochet Cable Stitch is in the group of spike stitches that are formed when the crochet hook is inserted some distance away from the normal position, either in a lower row or to one side. In the case of the cable stitch an elongated stitch is formed across the surface of the work.
Begin with a multiple of 4 stitches +2.
Special Stitch- 1 CABLE STITCH: work 1 TR, inserting hook 4 stitches to the right in the last dc skipped.
Row 1 (wrong side): 1 DC in second chain from hook,1 DC in each ch to end, turn.
Row 2: 3 CH, skip first dc,* skip next dc, 1 TR in each of next 3 dc, 1 CABLE STITCH, repeat from * ending 1 TR in 1 ch, turn
Row 3: 1 CH,skip first tr,1 DC in each tr, ending 1 DC in 3rd of 3ch, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3, the chains should form vertical rows.
