Sarah Shrimpton's Beginners Guide to Crochet is the perfect book to get you on your way if you are just starting out on the exciting adventure of learning to crochet. It comes highly recommended by many people new to crochet and will guide you painlessly through the learning process and soon have you making and completing your first crochet project
"I absolutely love this book. I have quite a few beginner crochet books
and have certainly researched a lot of them and this is by far the best,
actually I've given up on all the others since getting it. Firstly it
is modern and up to date, secondly it is laid out really well in a way
that makes sense...learn a stitch, then use it in a project, learn a
more complicated stitch, then use it in a project...and so on and so on,
and in between each Sarah teaches you all the other bits you need to
know about crochet. Thirdly the patterns are so easy to follow and
explained so well. Last but certainly not least, I LOVE Sarah's relaxed
and jokie style of writing, it's infectious. Her love for crochet is
jumping out of the pages you can feel it, but she's irreverent about it
all which makes it loads of fun. It encourages you to keep to the point
of all this learning a new skill as an adult stuff....to chill out and
enjoy making stuff...beautiful stuff that is. I'm
working through the book step
By step (it's so quick as she makes it SO easy) and have made a couple of things, all gorgeous. I'm most excited about the mahoosive cloud cushion, check it out. Get this book you won't regret it."
"Fantastic book, brilliant for crochet newbies and people who want to improve on their skills beautiful patterns and so well written unlike many other books and patterns 100% recommend I hope there will be a 2nd book soon."
"Great beginners' Crochet book. Easy to follow instructions and clear photos/pictures, plus really easy projects to get you started and to build confidence - all in UK Crochet terminology. Would recommend."
"What a great buy!
I bought it based on other good reviews. My friend spent a few hours teaching me basic crochet but I knew I'd forget bits and I didn't know enough to follow patterns yet. This has been invaluable - brilliantly explained.
This has just been absolutely perfect. My other half can't believe how quickly I've come on. I feel like I can tackle anything now!"
