400 Knitting Stitches is a wonderful resource for knitters of all levels, although it is not aimed at the absolute beginner, and really is the only stitch dictionary that you will ever need. All of the 400 stitches are clearly illustrated with a close-up photograph an accompanying chart as well as written instructions. A brilliant resource for knitters everywhere!
"I think I have just purchased the perfect knitting book! If you are a keen knitter you will think you have died and gone to heaven when you get your hands on this. There is enough information to enable you to produce each stitch/pattern without the inclusion of a lot of explanations and waffle. For someone who is new to knitting, the author has included a few pages of basic advice at the beginning of the book which would be enough to get you started. Probably not a good 'first' knitting book though."
"This book has so many choices that you really do not need anything else
for daily knitting. Most can be adapted to any ply of wool and can even
be used for silks and ribbons. I had lost my, very expensive, a-z of
stitches and needed a new one...this turned out to exceedingly low cost
and had more items listed than the book I lost.
I recommend it to any knitter...learner or professional, and, yes, I was a professional for many years, now I do it for fun."
"Just what I've been looking for - this for me is the book others claim to be but are not.
I think this book fills it's description of being for any level knitter - for a beginner it's an excellent resource that will grow with you as you get experience and for an advanced knitter it's all you need for making your own patterns.
A book of stitches with clear instructions, good pictures and charts and no useless patterns or "projects" tacked on to pad out the book -"
"I have wanted a book like this for a long time so I can put a pattern onto a plain knit garment. This is a wonderful book with lovely patterns inside. it has a fold in cover and it is a very handy size. I am really pleased with this purchase."
