The crocheted Tunisian mesh stitch is a variation of the basic Tunisan/Afghan stitch which forms a more open stitch than some of the other Tunisian crochet stitches which tend to be more compact.As with any kind of Afghan stitch, you begin Tunisian mesh stitch with a foundation row made of basic Tunisian crochet stitch.

Foundation Row (RS): Insert hook into 3rd. chain from hook, yo, draw loop through stitch, 1ch,*Insert hook into next ch,yo, draw loop through ch,1ch,repeat from * to end of row, 1 ch, do not turn.
Return Row: *Yo, draw yarn through 2 loops,repeat from * to end
of row, 1 ch, do not turn.
Row 1 (RS): Skip 1st. st. * insert hook into back of next
horizontal ch that runs along top of previous row, yo, draw yarn
through stitch, 1ch,repeat from * to end of row, 1 ch, do not turn.
Row 2: Work as for return row.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 for required length.
