How to Make a Fringe
Fringes can add that something extra to scarfs jumpers, jackets and other garments where the pattern requires them. make them in matching yarn or add a bit of colour by using up oddments from your workbox.
1,Cut a strip of firm card to slightly more than the width of the finished fringe,Wind the yarn evenly around the card until it is covered.
2, Insert a pair of sharp scissors between the yarn and the card and cut along the edge.
3,Insert a crochet hook at one end of the edge to be fringed and place the centre of 2 or 3 strands of yarn,( depending on how thick you want each tassel,) on the hook.
4,Pull the yarn through but do not remove the hook. Wind the ends of the yarn round the hook again and pull them through the loops on the hook.
5,Continue making tassels along the edge until it is complete.
6,Smooth the fringe out on a level surface and using a sharp pair of scissors trim any uneven strands.
