Covered Crochet Buttons

how to crochet covered buttons

Making covered crochet buttons is a lovely way to add a touch of individuality to your crocheted cardigan or jacket. You can work them in the same yarn or a contrasting one.  You can crochet a cover for either a large bead or an existing rounded button.

The same method can also be used for covering beads for necklaces or making Christmas Tree baubles.

3, Cut the yarn leaving a 30cm. tail and use this to secure the work with a blunt ended needle and a few tight stitches. Then with the same tail sew the covered crochet button firmly in place.
